925 Silver is an alloy made up of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals. It's the most cost effective option you can go for.
Pros
- A cost effective option if you are just starting your grillz collection
- Has a nice shine similar to white gold
Cons
- Silver grillz will tarnish quicker than other metals, just like any other silver jewelry. We never recommend smoking, drinking acidic drinks or eating with your grillz. If you do this, your grillz will tarnish much faster. However, we do offer a polishing service to bring your grillz back to their original shine.
- Has more of a metallic taste
- More malleable than other metals. This means if you don't look after your grillz the shape may be effected and it's possible they won't fit correctly. We advise you to put your grillz back onto the mold to keep their shape
10ct gold is a popular choice due to being more affordable than the higher carats. It contains the least amount of gold, however despite the lower purity, it makes up for it with durability as it's stronger than the higher carats of gold. This choice will have more of a pale gold look and a beautiful shine.
Pros
- More affordable
- Stronger and more durable than higher carats of gold
- A real nice shine
- Gold is the safest option to wear orally
- If you are buying jewelry as a future investment opting for real gold is the best choice for you
Cons
- Will tarnish over time depending on how you look after your grillz, but can be restored back to new with a clean and a polish
14ct gold is a happy medium between 10ct and 18ct. It has a higher gold content and will have a richer color than 10ct gold but will be slightly more malleable compared to 10ct gold.
Pros
- Rich color and nice shine
- Will tarnish slower than 10ct gold
- If you are buying jewelry as a future investment opting for real gold is the best choice for you
Cons
- More expensive than 10ct gold
- Will still tarnish over time although this will be slower than 10ct gold and can still be restored back to new
- More malleable so you will need to look after them properly to not effect the shape. Placing your grillz back onto the mold will help keep their shape
This is the highest purity of gold we use when creating grillz and is usually the preferred choice for those who have a higher budget and want to invest in higher quality jewelry. We do not go any higher than 18ct gold for grillz as they will be too soft for use in the mouth
Pros
- A beautiful rich gold colour and shine
- Will tarnish slower than 10ct and 14ct gold
- Flex on people and tell them it's18ct!
Cons
- Softer than the lower carats of gold and therefore more malleable - look after them properly so you can enjoy them for years to come.
